INFRARED SAUNA FAQS

Far Infrared Ray (FIR) or radiant heat (or radiant energy) is the band of light from the sun we perceive as heat. We cannot see this band of light with the naked eye, but we can feel this type of light in the form of heat.

The infrared sauna is much more comfortable and safer than the traditional ‘dry’ saunas, by using a process called conversion, where heat is transferred directly to the body without having to first heat the air.  Experience deep relaxation, detoxification and enhanced wellness

Radiant Heat is absorbed by the body as much as 1 ½ inches below the skin producing 2 to 3 times the amount of sweat from conventional saunas.

WHAT IS INFRARED?

01

Yes, Infrared Sauna Therapy is safe for almost everybody.  Being properly hydrated is the first requirement for using the sauna.

Some caveats:

  • Some people with specific health conditions and pregnant women may be advised to have shorter sessions and lower temperatures.

  • People with pacemakers should not use the Infrared Sauna.

  • Children have higher metabolic rate - Ages 6 -12 should not use the sauna longer than 20 mins

  • Children under age 6 should not use the sauna unless prescribed by a doctor.

IS IT SAFE FOR EVERYBODY?

02

While most of our clients wear their athletic clothes, we suggest wearing a towel (provided)  or loose fitting, comfortable clothing. We also recommend showering and bringing a change of clothes.

  • Please do not wear shoes in the sauna.

  • Contacts are perfectly fine in the sauna as the air does not get humid  as with conventional saunas.

What should i wear?

Health experts recommend that we should all sweat everyday! The recommendation is to sweat at least 20 mins a day.

Most of our clients book the sauna once to three times a week. If you are new to infrared or your lifestyle does not have you sweat often, your first session may take 30-40 mins before you break a sweat. We would be happy to help you if you have questions. Call us at 608-305-4312.
